Wabi sabi – what a funny name.  Kind of like feng shui.

We are doing a bathroom reno and needed the perfect imperfect claw foot bathtub or soaking tub.
Because there is beauty in imperfection – ask a silversmith about patina - Hotel lobby with beams recycled from a Barntherein lies wabi sabi.

Wabi sabi is a growing interior design movement.
It is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection.
Like feng shui – it is only now being treasured by you and I.
Wabi-sabi is green and part of the sustainability movement:
1.  It is the belief of beauty in imperfection and value in nature.
2.  Accepting the natural cycle of life and all that is authentic.
3.  Inspires minimalism that celebrates the human rather than the machine.

It is simple, slow and uncluttered – think of a hammock in the woods.

It celebrates 3 simple realities:
1.      Nothing lasts.
2.      Nothing is finished.
3.      Nothing is perfect.

Wabi sabi design celebrates cherished items in the home that are natural materials;
Think of aged wooden floors, rusted wrought iron furniture, weathered natural elements.
It’s beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Life is a crapshoot!

It is the 80/20 rule – in reverse.

In reverse because 80% of the people we work with (and that’s Realtors, Agents, homeowners, and other professionals) are really great people to work alongside.

What makes them great to work with…

My theory is that everyone is passionate about what they do…

But you have to be hungry to be really good at what you do.

And the 80%  we  like working with are hungry.  When you are hungry  you have a keen eye – stealth radar – of how best to meet your goals.

And meeting your goals means you have to be:

1.  on time – in fact, how about early!

2.  answer calls – promptly.

3.  return emails – promptly.

4.  Under promise and over deliver!

But you knew that – right?

The other 20% are riff raff.  And we avoid them like the plague…

Have a staged and colorful day!

Margaret
